Once you make the switch to Vubino, this new addition to your life will change the way you experience your period forever! The Vubino can collect up to three times more liquid compared to ordinary pads or tampons and is designed to provide maximum protection from leakage. After placement, depending on the strength of your flow, it will provide coverage for up to 12 hours. If you experience a strong flow, check your Vubino every 2-6 hours, for a moderate flow every 6-10 hours, or for a weaker flow every 10-12 hours.
SIZE 1 – 43mm diameter. Suggested for use by women under age 30 &/or who have not given natural birth.
SIZE 2 – 47 mm diameter. Suggested for use by women over the age of 30 &/or who have given birth in a natural way.
*If you feel that you are smaller/larger than women your age, consider this factor; we want you to feel comfortable and have the right Vubino for you.
Before initial insertion for the first use of your Vubino you should boil the device in water for 7-10 minutes. Thereafter, it is safe and recommended to use natural and organic, scent-free soap before, during and after your subsequent menstrual cycles in order to preserve and uphold the quality of the product as well as for your personal health and safety.
1. Fold it:
There are two folds to choose from when inserting your Vubino:
Find your most convenient position – squatting in a straddle and bending forward is recommended (you should trim the stem of your Vubino with scissors if you find it is too long – it should not hang outside of the vagina or be too close to the entry point, as it may irritate the vaginal walls).
Hold the reusable menstrual cup between your thumb and third finger and push inward using your thumb, index finger and third finger (keep the Vubino™ closed until it’s placed properly inside the vagina). The upper silicone ring of the cup will seal against the walls of the vagina and create a vacuum effect provided by the two small holes on the side (this ensures that it will stay in place and if working properly, it will be harder to pull out due to pressure from vacuum). You will know it is in place properly when you can slightly spin your cup; some may spin with more ease than others.
A well fixed cup will collect downstreaming menstrual flow, avoiding any leakage from the inside. The device perfectly blocks the way of upwelling water from outside as well, making it ideal for safety and convenience during water related activities. When in place properly you shouldn’t feel it, much like a tampon.
We suggest using a panty liner upon initial use of your Vubino until you become more familiar with how it works with your body, so as to avoid any accidents.
1. Always wash your hands prior to and after inserting and removing your reusable menstrual cup. You can easily remove it by pulling the silicone stem outwards gently. If you have chosen to cut the stem off entirely, pinch the bottom of the cup with your index finger & thumb, then pull out gently from left to right to disengage vacuum effect. You can aid in the removal by pushing as you would when urinating or defecating.
2. Once the cup is out you may be surprised how much or how little blood is in the cup; all women have varying flows. Another benefit of the reusable menstrual cup is the fact that it allows you to accurately calculate how much blood you are losing during each cycle. Immediately dump the contents into the toilet; rinse and wash the cup prior to reinsertion. If you are in public and there is no access to soap, simply reinsert the cup, but do so sparingly and without touching anything.
